2D and 3D Road Surface Analysis Using Brinq™

Arcturus (Arcturus Networks Inc., Toronto) has released a video demonstrating the use of it’s Brinq technology. Image turning every municipal transit vehicle into a road surface analysis tool. The example video makes used of stereoscopic RGB+Depth (RGBD) cameras. This provides 2D qualitative classification of 4 types of road damage as well 3D quantitative analysis. Quantitative analysis adds a new dimension in understanding the severity and progression of potholes, making it possible to prioritize repairs before accidents or disruption occur.
